Beneficial Use of Pine Nut Oil enriched with Pine Resin in cases of Leaky Gut

A leaky gut is an increased permeability of the intestinal wall, in which bacteria and particles of digested food enter the bloodstream. Symptoms of this condition are: fatigue, chronic constipation or diarrhea, and autoimmune diseases. Left untreated, leaky gut can lead to more serious consequences: the dysbacteriosis caused by this condition has been shown to increase the risk of type 1 diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, and certain types of cancer. [1]

There are several main reasons for the development of this syndrome:

  • Inflammatory processes in the intestinal mucosa, as a result of which the integrity of the intestinal walls is disturbed;
  • An increase in the concentration of pathogenic microorganisms due to a decrease in the concentration of a natural antiseptic ā€” hydrochloric acid (a component of gastric juice);
  • Scientific studies support a link between leaky gut and psychological stress levels. [2]

Pine nut oil enriched with pine resin is effective in the prevention and treatment of leaky gut, as it has a powerful antiseptic effect, helps to restore damaged mucosa, and helps to overcome situations of psychological stress.

Antiseptic effect

Pine resin contains alcohols and esters. These components have a pronounced antiseptic and disinfecting effect. Terpenes, the main component of the resin, have a similar property. In nature, terpenes protect plants from any harmful microorganisms.

Once in the human gastrointestinal tract, terpenes perform the same function. [3] Pine nut oil also showed antimicrobial and antibacterial activity in in vitro experiments. [4] Thus, pine nut oil enriched with pine resin prevents the inflammatory processes that lead to leaky gut. In addition, if the disease has already manifested itself, pine nut oil and pine resin destroy pathogens that can enter the bloodstream.

Benefits for the mucosa

Pine nut oil enriched with pine resin is a source of pectins that are beneficial for the intestinal mucosa. It has been proven that they not only reduce inflammation, but also help maintain the integrity of the mucosa. [5] Another nutrient important for the health of the gastrointestinal mucosa is vitamin A. This vitamin regulates the differentiation of epithelial cells and keratinization processes, thereby accelerating the healing of any damage to the mucosa.

Anti-stress properties

Psychological stress suppresses the immune system and leads to an imbalance in the microflora of the gastrointestinal tract. This, in turn, often causes the development of leaky gut. Pine nut oil enriched with pine resin contains the following nutrients that strengthen the nervous system: magnesium, leucine, phenylalanine, methionine, terpenes, and succinic acid. Reducing stress levels strengthens the body’s natural defenses, as a result of which the likelihood of developing the syndrome is reduced and negative consequences are leveled if the integrity of the intestinal mucosa is already compromised.

Be healthy!
