What is the difference between farm and wild-harvested products?

A healthy lifestyle is one of the most popular trends of recent decades. Most people on a healthy diet prefer to buy farm-based products. However, «farm-grown» and even «organic» does not always mean «100% natural and harmless.» Let’s see what are the differences between farm products, products of organic farming, and wild-harvested plants.

Farm products

Speaking of farm products, you most likely imagine small private farms where products are grown in natural conditions. However, in fact, the label «farm» does not exclude the use of pesticides and hormones, as well as the use of some harmful agricultural practices.

«Farm» pine nut oil is produced mostly in Italy. On these farms:

  • Non-natural fertilizers are used.
  • Branches of Siberian pine are grafted onto stone pine trees so that the farm pays off faster: in the wild, Siberian pine gives harvest only after reaching 50 years.
  • Due to grafting, the energy exchange of the tree is disrupted.
  • Due to pesticides and grafting, fungus (Sphaeropsis sapinea) appears on trees.

Products of Organic Farming

Products of organic farming are more ecological than usual farm products. When growing them, no harmful substances are used. Thus, the Department for Agriculture and Rural Affairs (DEFRA, UK) states that:

“Organic food is the product of a farming system which avoids the use of man-made fertilisers, pesticides, growth regulators and livestock feed additives. Irradiation and the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or products produced from or by GMOs are generally prohibited by organic legislation.”

However, when it comes to pine nuts, grafting is used in the same way on organic farms and fungus appears. Nuts grow in an unnatural environment. That is why they contain fewer useful nutrients.

Wild plants

Wild plants are much more than ordinary organic products. They grow in their natural biosphere and as a result contain the highest amount of nutrients possible for a plant.

Siberian Pine Nut Oil is made from wild-harvested pine nuts that have grown naturally. The soil in the taiga has never received pesticides, and the pine trees are surrounded by different plants that, in turn, are the best fertilizers for them. Therefore, each nut that becomes the raw material for our product is saturated with the maximum amount of vitamins and minerals. It has undergone a natural and long process of ripening in harsh climatic conditions, thanks to which it has accumulated many nutrients.

Only pine nut oil, produced from wild-harvested nuts, can bring the maximum benefit to your body and not cause harm (if used correctly). Thanks to 100% naturalness, our oil can be used by all family members — even small children and pets.
